Support our Students

Our students and staff constantly strive to challenge perspectives, promote understanding and to tackle the many issues facing our world today.

You can support SOAS student initiatives on our crowdfunding platform which allows students to fundraise for projects that have a positive impact on SOAS, the local and wider community. Here are just some of the range of projects that we have supported:

  • SOAS African Development Forum 2018: student-led, student-organized forum championing African development.

  • Queer Asia: supporting the first Asia centered conference addressing LGBT issues with a platform for artists, academics and activists.

  • Helen Kanitkar Library: sustaining the legacy of Dr Helen Kanitkar, Lector in the SOAS Anthropology Department by supporting a student librarian.

  • Migrant Solidarity in Paris & Calais: student society supporting hundreds of migrants and refugees with hygiene packs and warm meals.

Since the launch of SOAS Impact in June 2015, hundreds of alumni, staff, students, friends and the wider community have donated over £130,000 to support student initiatives and academic led projects focusing on the preservation of languages and culture.
